This year, Amazon Prime Day 2023 isn’t just about the splurge deals and big-ticket items discounted during the retailer’s two-day, on-sale shopping event (though we recommend grabbing your investment items stat).

This one’s for the teachers.

Because Amazon’s much-anticipated event takes place Tuesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 12, you can say it’s the *prime* time for educators to save big on supplies, desk items, around-the-mat seating options, storage and more.

“Teaching items on sale are always a plus,” Samantha Alaimo, a second-grade teacher from Staten Island, told the New York Post. “At my school, we do not receive a stipend, so I try to manage my money when buying classroom supplies and decor. I usually try to buy what I know I really would need for the upcoming year, and then all the little items I come across, I can always buy on sale.”

To help you maximize your Amazon cart, Alaimo hand-picked the 20 best classroom essentials to pick up during Prime Day to be fully stocked for your August classroom stock-up session. By being a Prime member, we recommend shopping now, as you’re going to receive the best bang for your buck.

“You can never have too many EXPO markers,” Alaimo tells The Post. “These markers came in handy this year when I did review games with my students, so always having extra markers is a plus.”

For 50% off, it’s worth the Prime Day add-to-cart purchase, too.

“These fidget toys were hit in my prize box,” Alaimo notes. “My students loved the squishes and any sensory toys in it, especially.”

Even better, Amazon has many other variety packs with the same type of items, perfect for prizes or rewarding students upon receiving an A+.

“Storage bins are always a plus,” Alaimo shares. “As a teacher, you always want to find a good deal for storage because you always have an abundance of stuff. They’re very durable and can be used over again.”

Not to mention, this particular storage solution comes with roll-y wheels (our favorite), perfect for maneuvering within your classroom.

“Getting these markers on sale are always a plus, especially with doing activities with your students,” Alaimo says. “Kids always love using markers, so any Crayola package on sale is a great deal.”

Though only a couple of dollars have been shaved off its original price, you reap more bang for your buck by buying in bulk.

“This organizer really came in handy this year, taking over in the middle of the year,” Alaimo says. “I wanted my own stationary. This organizer was so simple and easy to just quickly grab a pen to go.”

With this organizer, you can also stash your phone, scissors and little odds and ends to keep everything where it should be throughout the school day.

“These pencils came in handy as well this year my students constantly lose their pencil so, having this big bulk box, they were just able to quickly grab and go back to doing their work,” Alaimo says.

Oh, and did we mention these are pre-sharpened? It helps students chase down the in-classroom pencil sharpener, most notably.

“This label maker came in handy as well, my students always were losing their pencils or markers, so I was able to label them, and they know that that would be theirs,” Alaimo says.

Plus, it’s now less than $40 right now for a sweet on-sale tech gadget to use in your classroom.

“Getting a laminator this year was the best thing I could’ve ever got,” Alaimo notes. “It was quick and easy to laminate class charts within my affirmation stations, and any little thing that I needed laminated as well. It was perfect to get on sale.”

This Prime Day, this top-rated classroom essential (and general office essential, making it even more versatile) is nearly $80 off — one of the classroom essentials we really recommend snagging right now.

“This microphone was a fun option to buy as well this year,” Alaimo shares. “I was able to get my students attention without completely losing my voice, and when we had dance parties, this microphone was used for karaoke — and the kids loved it.”

For $20 off, you’ll also want to use this microphone for outdoor parties when school isn’t in session (our pro tip, anyway).

“These acrylic shelves were a hit this year in my classroom,” Alaimo says. “I saw a lot of other teachers use it and I thought it would be the best way to showcase my weekly books that we read as a class.”

Plus, this four-pack is one of the best Amazon items under $25, if more affordable shopping is what you’re after.

“These table spots were new — that I had found this year —and they helped a lot with small groups,” Alaimo says, recommending The Original Table Spots for Teachers. “They gave each kid an assigned spot, so it was easy for kids to get to their small group table and know where to go.”

With nearly 1,500 rave reviews, they’re a teacher’s best friend for not only teaching younger students color sorting but also to easily assemble smaller learning groups, as Alaimo mentioned.

“Erasers were a must this year; I didn’t have them at first and, within the first week, I realized I needed to buy them,” Alaimo says. “My students are constantly losing erasers or they were falling off, so being able to give them a few at a time is the easiest thing for me.”

For less than $10 right now, they’re something you never want to run out of, too.

“For a teacher, a printer is always a must to have within your own classroom,” Alaimo says, recommending the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Wireless All-in-One color Printer. “Yes, your office may have a printer and you can send them stuff to print, but having your own in the classroom is way easier.”

More, she says it’s great for printing out little activities if a specials class (like art or music) was canceled for the day.

“Getting a perfect chair for your desk is the best feeling, especially when I ordered this chair,” Alaimo shares. “They had multiple options but this one is so comfortable and easy to move around. Plus, it’s convenient to help my students at their desk as well.”

“These buzzers were amazing,” Alaimo gleams. “I had bought two packs on sale. I have a lot of kids in my class so I would split them up into groups and use them as their buzzer. If they got the question, they would hit it while playing Jeopardy.”

And, for just $10, how could you not make classroom participation even more affordable?

“Mini dry erasers — especially in bulk — are perfect for review games on the whiteboards,” Alaimo says. “I’d make activities with my label maker, so also using dry erasers for these activities was much easier than grabbing tissues.”

Even better, Amazon has various bundle quantities and colors to choose from, depending on your budget and/or class size.
